Alex Carlson-Erichsen was approached to spearhead the design and project management for the new Surgical Technician Lab after the campus suffered damage from a tornado.

Her directive was to develop a space that would adhere with the needs of a surgery center as well as being able to secure funding from local hospitals by offering state of the art training and facilities for students.

The adaptation  of this space encompassed a “command centre”  where the staff could monitor students procedures and testing.  It also evolved partitioning the space into Bays to accommodate surgical tables and equipment.  The structure was reinforced to allow state of the art LED surgical lamps to be installed and plumbing was extended to accommodate surgery sinks.
